New guide to the UN Convention on the Rights of Disabled Persons is published
The Equality and Human Rights Commission published a guide to the UN Convention on the Rights of Disabled Persons (UNCRDP) on 19 July. The guide has been developed so that disabled persons are more aware of their rights and so that they can voice their concerns to improve services for themselves or others.
The UK government signed the Convention last year. The Convention sets out the rights of disabled persons with regard to health, education, employment, access to justice, personal security, independent living and access to information.
