The Sensitive Practice Guide : Post Trauma Effects Of Child Abuse

Dealing with Child Abuse Post Trauma Effects :

The Sensitive Practice Guide (downloadable HERE)  is being re-promoted with this letter by the Birmingham LINk Mental Health Action Group(MHAG) in order to aid adults with child abuse post trauma effects. The guide was originally produced by the Wolverhampton Sexual Abuse Forum in 2006 in colored hard copy only. Now because of our 2010 efforts it is reformatted as a black and white hard copy form and digital copies too can be downloaded for printing on the LINK website.  Recognition goes to WSAF and Jackie Sharratt for their truly pioneering and brave work in 2006 .  We will be distributing the guides to Dentists , Doctors and other professionals .   The guide aids the Public, Service Users and Professionals to lift the taboo on post trauma child abuse effects . It creates a new vision of dealing more openly with long term emotional difficulties and thus promotes understanding and healing. Dealing sensitively with treatments by professionals where “intrusion” feelings are often experienced by the Service User, is a prime part of its aim as is to recognize inner acute vulnerability so a pathway can be made where the Service Users are safely held-in-mind and aided in various treatments , from opticians to dentists , doctors and midwives and more ..
