LINK supports Silver Surfer’s Day
With the Internet becoming an integral part in the lives of many across the world, it is important to bear in mind that for some this technology is still out of reach. Taking into account the fact that by and large the elderly population can be under-represented in the online community, Birmingham LINk is encouraging people to celebrate Silver Surfer’s Day on Friday 20 May.
The idea came about so that individuals and organisations support older persons and introduce them to the basics of the web. Events will be held across the land and there are packs available to all looking for ideas on how to make use of this opportunity to support the elderly. This is the first time Silver Surfer’s Day takes place during Silver Surfer’s Week (16 to 20 May), giving people the flexibility to organise events when it suits them.
